The Bee Squad has made it easier for beekeepers to monitor varroa mite levels in their honey bee colonies. Everything you need to perform a powdered sugar roll test is in one convenient tub!

This kit includes:

  • a tub for collecting the bee sample and for displaying mites at the final mite count.

  • a scoop with a 100ml mark to measure 300 bees (standard sample size)

  • a jar with a mesh screen for separating the bees from the mites

  • 1lb of powdered sugar for the test

  • a bottle for water to dissolve the sugar in order to see the mites clearly

  • brochure with instructions

    • Proceeds from the sales of the Varroa Mite Testing Kit will be used to fund MiteCheck, a beekeeper citizen science project.
